Another construction sign that I found while I was out hiking. Well, it was right next to the last one that I put in KRP #29.
Along with the previous one, you could most certainly see the same thing on a regular road. Probably any type of road or trail for that matter. This is a pretty important sign that you might want to become familiar with when hiking in Japan. Kanji Reading Practice #30 Construction Signs 通り抜けできません has kanji from WaniKani levels 25 and below.The Kanji:
工 事 中 通 抜
The Kanji Readings (this usage) and Meanings:
工 (コウ) – construction
事 (ジ) – action; matter; thing
中 (チュウ) – middle
通 (とお) – pass through
抜 (ぬ) – extract
The Words:
工事中 (こうじちゅう) – under construction
につき – because of; on account of
通り抜け (とおりぬけ) – passing through; through passage
できません – can’t; can’t do
The Meaning:
工事中につき通り抜けできません。
Cannot pass through due to construction.
