The "少しゆっくり日本語 Listening Practice with Native Japanese" Podcast for Japanese language learning is for intermediate and advance Japanese language learners.
Ryuichi, the man behind the podcast, is producing it as a way to return a favor for friends of his that helped him learn English. It is a kind of language exchange by podcast I guess. Ryuichi speaks only Japanese on his podcast, which can help you listen to more Japanese in order to practice your listening skills. For most of the episodes, Ryuichi speaks a little slower than normal, but not much, and he tries to use “easier” Japanese words. There are a few episodes where he speaks much faster, and he says that these episodes are for his Japanese friends also.Ryuichi started uploading episodes of the “少しゆっくり日本語 Listening Practice with Native Japanese” podcast back in April of 2021. It has been just a little over a year, and he already has over 225 episodes. He started off pretty strong at the beginning, frequently posting episodes. However, he has slowed down considerably this year, averaging from 3 to 5 episodes each month. Each episode is anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes in length. Ryuichi talks about many different topics, which could be anything from how he got married, to American Football, to his job and career. He even has a few episodes about the Denver Broncos Football team. These episodes are sometimes all in English, so they may not interest you, unless you like American Football or the Denver Broncos.
All of Ryuichi’s “少しゆっくり日本語 Listening Practice with Native Japanese” podcast episodes are actually only the audio from a live video that he records and posts on YouTube. His channel is here. The videos are captioned in auto generated Japanese only, but sometimes he will manually insert into his video the Japanese and English for any words that he thinks are a little more difficult.
